Description of intervention(s) / exposure
This study will take advantage of a roll-out of the Triple P Online System (TPOS) within Australia to collect data on effectiveness in a practice-as-usual context. The TPOS has been funded for dissemination to all eligible Australian parents by the Commonwealth Government’s Parenting and Education Support Program since 2022 and is a web-based platform that provides parents with access to Triple P Online variants including the four newly rolled out or soon to be rolled out programs under evaluation in the current study (commencing July 2025); Family Transitions Triple P Online, Stepping Stones Triple P Online, Resilience Triple P Online and Teen Triple P Online.

The Triple P Online programs that form part of TPOS provide parents with a range of resources and tools, including interactive modules, videos, and self-help materials, to support their parenting journey. The programs contain between four and ten online modules that each take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Participants will have access to the TPOS for 12 months from enrolment, however, for the purposes of this study, observation will only occur for 6 months after enrolment.

Family Transitions Triple P Online – Includes five self-paced modules and is designed for parents of children under 12 years who are thinking about, going through, or have recently gone through separation or divorce. The program aims to manage emotions, reduce conflict, and support their children’s adjustment. Topics include managing your own emotional reactions, improving communication with your former partner, helping children cope with family changes, and creating a stable, supportive home environment.

Stepping Stones Triple P Online – Includes ten self-paced modules designed for parents and carers of children aged under 12 years with developmental disabilities, neurodiversity (such as Autism and ADHD), or additional needs. The program provides practical strategies to support children's development, manage challenging behaviours, and enhance family life. Topics include building daily routines, improving communication, teaching new skills, encouraging independence, and fostering emotional regulation. It also offers tools to reduce parental stress and strengthen the parent-child relationship.

Resilience Triple P Online – Includes four self-paced modules designed for parents of children under 12 who are experiencing difficulties with friendships or bullying. It focuses on building children’s social and emotional skills that reduce the risk of being bullied, while empowering parents to support their child's development and collaborate effectively with schools. Parents receive practical training in how to respond to bullying, coach their children in social skills, and create supportive home environments. The program uses active skills training with video demonstrations, practice, feedback, and home tasks to consolidate learning and improve peer relationships and emotional resilience.

Teen Triple P Online – Includes six self-paced modules designed for parents of pre-teens and teenagers aged 10 to 16 years. The program offers practical strategies to strengthen family relationships, encourage responsible behaviour, and support teens' emotional well-being. Topics include understanding positive parenting principles for teenagers, promoting new skills and emotional self-regulation, managing misbehaviour, and planning for high-risk situations. It also provides tools to improve communication and reduce conflict within the family.

Participant process data including use of and engagement with the TPOS system will be observed, and parent questionnaire responses will be collected to measure program efficacy. The questionnaires used will be different for each program, with each battery of questionnaires taking approximately 15 minutes. Questionnaires include -
