Description of intervention(s) / exposure
The primary intervention in this study is the introduction of a ‘CPR train the trainer’ session. This training session will be delivered to eligible participants who volunteer as ‘peer trainers’ from within a cohort of patients attending a cardiac rehabilitation program at John Hunter Hospital. The training will be delivered as a a single face to face session lasting 60 minutes. The sessions will focus on the process of compression only CPR and will incorporate a series of CPR training videos that have been developed for the purpose of supporting peer-led CPR training in this trial. No formal assessment of competence will be used in this teaching session.
Other participants are able to volunteer as 'trainees:
Peer trainers: will be trained by the study team in CPR in a "train the trainer” style session and work with the study team to arrange and teach a face-to-face session where they will train a group of between 3 – 10 other community members (Trainees) in compression only CPR.
Trainees: will be receiving CPR instruction by a peer trainer in this study.
The ‘CPR train the trainer’ session will be delivered by professional CPR trainers (within the study team) and will consist of a single 60-minute face to face CPR train the trainer session, delivered to individual cardiac rehab participants. This training session will be structured around several training videos have been specifically developed for the trial. It is expected that these videos will be used by the ‘peer trainers’ to deliver their own training. These CPR training videos will be accessible via a QR code on provided ‘CPR lesson cards’, multi-modal training aids consisting of simple visual cues and a QR link to the training videos.
Following the original train the trainer session the peer trainers will deliver a training session to a small group of ‘trainees’ who will then be assessed by the study team.

Summary
Brief summary
The aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of a “train the trainer” model of CPR training within the community of patients attending cardiac rehabilitation classes. This study will aim to 1). explore the experience of participants in a peer-led CPR training program; and 2). evaluate the feasibility of peer-led CPR training provided by cardiac rehabilitation patients as peer trainers.
